I present my Amodel 1/72 scale Il-38 "May". I built the kit over several years. Although it wasn't that hard to work with the fiberglass resin fuselage and wings everything needed to be cleaned up and sanded as all parts both injected and resin are a bit rough, the surface detail is still nice. The kit is finished with minimal additional details and I used the kit decals. I have always been a fan of Amodel kits as there are few manufactures that will tackle these subjects, where else can you find a 1/72 scale Il-38?! The kit is photographed in forced perspective and in natural lighting. Model Master paints were used and the prop de-ice boots are masked and painted and not decals. The model is weathered to represent the heavy weathering of the real aircraft, the only thing I left out was the nose gear mud guards, I suppose the mechanics are working on them and they were left off for this test flight.
